 St. Augustine At a Glance
Best Time to Go
Fall and spring are great times to visit St. Augustine. Autumn and spring's balmy days are
warm enough to take advantage of St. Augustine's 40-plus miles of beach without the crowds
or sweltering heat of summer.
Average Weather
January highs average in the mid-sixties Fahrenheit with lows in the forties. While warm
with average daytime highs hitting 70 degrees, November is the wettest month often
drenching the city in more than 10 inches of rain. From May through October, highs are in
the 80s through the 90s with limited rainfall.
Transportation
Get around town on the Sunshine Bus, call them at 1-904-823-4816, board or exit the bright
yellow van at any corner on the route or the Red Sightseeing Train, call 1-800-226-6546.
Tour the Old Town via Pedicab, details at 1-904-829-2225. The Old Town is easy to walk
around and most parts are wheelchair accessible.
Or, better yet, bring your own car. This is the most convenient way to see all areas of
this historical city.
In-Season Costs
Hotel prices in this popular resort tend to be high year-round. Check Lodging.com for
featured specials. Restaurants range from very expensive European style cuisine to
seafront bar and grill places. St. Augustine is an expensive city, but worth it.
Day Trips
In addition to the historic attractions of St. Augustine, the oldest city in the USA is
merely minutes from several beaches; unspoiled Flagler Beach is 40 miles away. Daytona,
Cape Kennedy, and Orlando are all close enough for day tripping if you don't mind a drive.
